BIOME, LQ and a Global Bank at Kaikondrahalli Lake on 17th May 2017

Leaders’ Quest is a social enterprise that works with business, NGO and civil society leaders to enhance their impact and  in today’s fast-changing world. Through experiential learning journeys (called ‘Quests’), they bring together individuals from all walks of life to deepen their sense of purpose  and enhance personal impact.

LQ was leading a Quest for senior partners of a global bank in Bangalore. They wanted  to learn about the issue of water as part of their journey in understanding Bangalore and relating it to global complexities.

BIOME helped organize this visit on 17th May 2017 at Kaikondrahalli Lake. Mr Vishwanath and Shubha engaged with the group. It was a good engagement where both BIOME as well as the bankers shared experiences and learned from each other in an informal atmosphere

Students/Faculty with ACARA visit Sarjapura Road on 18th May 2017

Acara is an interdisciplinary impact entrepreneurship program at the University of Minnesota, which started in 2009, working with student social innovators through experiential learning, coursework, incubation, mentoring, fellowships and funding. Their summer study abroad program has students from various backgrounds learning about development and its contexts through interactions with various stakeholders.

In this regard, BIOME helped organize a visit  to Rainbow Drive and Kaikondrahalli Lake  on Thursday, May 18, 2017, - to understand the water management and citizen participation for water management in both the places. This was for eight University of Minnesota students, three faculty and three local interns from St. Joseph's College, Bangalore

The Drawing is on the Wall

A blank boundary wall between Springfields and Haralur Road was taken up for beautification. This was supported and enabled by Raindrops, Springfields and enthusiastic in house artists from Springfields :)

The theme for this wall was the lakes in the vicinity - most of them around Haralur Road. This could be a good way to know about the lakes in the neighbourhood !!

The concept - on paper
