140 ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) Workers and Health Inspectors from 18 Public Health Centers around Mulbagal underwent a Water Quality Testing programme organized by BIOME Environmental Trust and Gram Vikasa at Mulbagal. Practical Water Testing for bacteriological contamination using the H2S Strip Test and Fluoride Testing using Zirconyl Alizarine was conducted for the trainees. Interesting discussions around the need for testing, and ways and means of reducing contamination in water was discussed. SODIS was discussed.

Health inspectors from each of the PHCs were given Water Test kits that can test upto 100 samples. These test kits were provided by  the WIPRO EcoEye Sustainability programme. The kit  can also be used to test for residual Chlorine and hardness. We are looking forward to receiving the results and analysing it.

Full day interaction with students of SISA Kendra

On 22nd Feb we had an interactive session with the students of classes 6 upto 10 of SISA Kendra. The idea was to engage with the children on the issue of water in Bangalore and familiarize the students with the RWH system in their own school. The session was made even more interesting by the impromptu participation of Dr Devdas from Narayana Hrudayalay
